Tax season...Un-Cut

Blogs are all about showcasing your best moments, and hiding all of your faults. In hopes to make your readers jealous, and wish they had a perfect life like you. Maybe its just me but I don't like to air my dirty laundry. Its natural to downplay your faults, and only talk about your strengths. So at least in this post I thought I would be a little more honest...
This first picture is me with my hair and make-up done, sitting in front of my computer. I took it with my web-cam. This is how I would like to think I look all of the time:) Its not retouched or anything...but I just don't have the time or energy to duplicate this everyday.
This is what I look like more often. No make-up, hair back...and don't even get me started on my house! Since this IS tax season, Cory is gone pretty much all of the time. My house is the most obvious sign of this. In normal months he helps me so much, especially with the dishes and laundry. The laundry is my arch-nemesis! I can never keep up with it! It sits in its heaping pile, and taunts me. I tell myself, "At least its clean!:)" I knew it was bad when CJ stopped looking in his drawers for clothes and skipped straight to the dryer.

I'm not complaining about tax season. Cory has a great job, and we new when he started his career that this was part of the deal. Lucky for me we have family and friends that help keep me company, and make the time go by faster. Plus I work 1-2 days a week still, and Cory's parents are wonderful, and they watch the kids for me. Its a nice break for me, and all three kids love going with them.

This is how a typical day starts for me. I stay in bed until the last possible moment, and the kids come in as they wake up. I love waking up to these faces! Cory is very sweet, and usually gets breakfast for whoever is awake before he leaves.
CJ is getting so big, and is really such a great helper.
Genevieve gets feistier with everyday. And it takes a lot of persuasion for her to let me do her hair! Luckily it curls on its own. She is the spice in my life<3
Then there's Everett! He is such an angel, and cute as can be! I'm not sugarcoating that for the blog, he really is as sweet and easy as can be. He's so laid back! Just like his dad. He is pretty content just sitting-he has started rolling a little, but he's pretty happy just being stationary. Which is actually a huge blessing! I can wait a little while longer for him to crawl:)
Best buddies, enjoying our "winter". Having a yard to play in that is not just dirt, has helped me so much. Thanks to Cory and his dad!
They also love to play on the triple bunk bed my dad built. We made the top into a fort, and they love it. Genna still has her own room, but we've been letting her sleep on the bunk bed for now.
Since Everett has been born I have needed CJ to do a lot more for himself. He has recently started doing his own hair, and he's actually pretty good at it. He asks me every morning, "Mom, can I put gel in my hair?"

The finished product!
This is a glimpse inside our car. We have a Kia Sorento, which seats five. It is a tight fit, but its nice having CJ next to Everett. He can even give him a bottle.

Going anywhere can be a bit of a production, but its nice to get out. They really are good kids.

We've been blessed with close family, and have enjoyed lots of time with them lately.

CJ and Edmond.
Alayna and Gen.
Brody and Everett. Brody is one week younger than Everett, but crawls circles around him, literally! But Everett has fun watching him:)
Olivia and Gen.
My niece Julia has also been coming over once a week to help me for a couple of hours. It has been great! On this day everyone was dressing up, and apparently Everett didn't want to be included in the game. (Hey, no laundry in this picture! It must be on my bed. Lol!)
Enjoying the backyard some more. We've had Edmond and Alayna over more frequently lately because my brother and his wife just had a new baby boy. Its a win-win, because my kids love having them over.

This is the group of kids in our Tax-widows group. Its quite the crew, the kids love to play, and the mommies get some adult conversation!

So, from this very long post, hopefully you will see just how normal and not-perfect my family is. I am loving this time in my life-even though I have days I want hide in my room with my door locked. Even as I am writing this, I know I will walk out to find some sort of mess that has kept them busy for the interim. I'll pick it up, at least before Cory gets home tonight! Ha ha!
